Taylor Swift's Best And Worst Game-Day Looks
Taylor Swift is one of the biggest pop stars in the world, and now, she can add WAG to her title. As the Kansas City Chiefs' tight end Travis Kelce's girlfriend, she has solidified her presence at many of his games since going official a year ago. Amid rumors that the two were in a relationship, Swift confirmed them when she showed up at the Chiefs vs. the Chicago Bears game in September 2023 in a private suite with Travis' mom, Donna Kelce. Showing support for her new man, the "Fortnight" singer wore a red and white Chiefs jacket over her casual 'fit.
Since then, football fans and Swifties alike have had their eyes peeled for the global sensation at Travis' games, and they want to see what she's wearing. We know that Swift always puts care into her look, and she's never seen in anything other than designer duds. Most of the time, she slays with her fashion, but unfortunately, some of her game-day looks have been a miss, proving that even Taylor Swift can't always win. Here are some of her best and worst looks while cheering on her lover.
Best: Taylor Swift's fall plaid 'fit had style
Taylor Swift brought her pops and a fierce 'fit to the October 7 Kansas City Chiefs game against the New Orleans Saints. The pop star showed up in everything Vivienne Westwood, from her plaid corset off-the-shoulder top with a matching skirt to the knee-high platform boots on her feet. While this is far from the laid-back T-shirt and jeans most football fans wear, Swift knows that she needs to amp up her style game with all eyes on her, and we love that she brought her high fashion.
Worst: Taylor Swift's red sweater was basic
We get that Taylor Swift wanted to show some team spirit at the January 28 Chiefs vs. Ravens game, but her red sweater just looked "out of style." The baggy fit looked more suitable for running errands or cozying up on the sofa with a cup of hot chocolate, but definitely not for a photo-op in a stadium filled with thousands of people. What's more, Swift's wavy hair looked like it could have used some frizz-tamer. Although her songs are bops, this look is a flop.
Best: Taylor Swift rocked denim on denim
Taylor Swift made Arrowhead Stadium her personal runway when she arrived wearing a game-day look that had her fans all saying the same thing. The fashionista wore a Versace denim crop top and high-waisted Grlfrnd jorts in a matching color, but it was her dark-red thigh-high Giuseppe Zanotti boots that stole the show. Fans quickly compared them to the ones she wore in her "Look What You Made Me Do" video and we have to admit that Swift's "Reputation" era served some of her best looks.
Worst: Taylor Swift's low-key 'fit was not WAG-worthy
Taylor Swift was still new to the WAGs world when she attended the Chiefs game on October 12, 2023. Perhaps that's why she didn't kick up her fashion game yet when she showed up in the most boring of boring 'fits with a plain black zippered top and a gray miniskirt. Draped lazily over Swift's shoulders was a Kansas City Chief's jacket, which was the only color added to her look. We do love that her gold chain necklace gave just a hint of a mob-wife aesthetic.
Best: Taylor Swift elevated black jeans like no other
When it's Super Bowl time, a mere jeans and T-shirt combo is not going to do it, especially if you're Taylor Swift. While still keeping things casual — it is a football game, after all — the "Cruel Summer" singer amped up her denim with a pair of black Area jeans with crystallized slits across the thighs. Her top was a black mesh tank from Australian designer Dion Lee and she accessorized her look with an 87 necklace as a nod to Travis Kelce's jersey number. Simple, yet classy, which is what Swift's style is all about.
Worst: Taylor Swift shouldn't have left home in that sweatshirt
We all have a favorite old sweatshirt that is more about comfort than aesthetics, and Taylor Swift looked like she wore hers to watch Travis Kelce play against the Patriots in December 2023. It was understandably cold, especially since she was in Massachusetts, but for fashion's sake, a statement coat would have been much trendier. Coupled with the red-and-white beanie, Swift was dressed like a toddler rather than someone who's known for quiet luxury. She has stepped things up since then, so hopefully, we can expect more fashion eye candy in the upcoming games.
