What's The Difference Between Shellac And Gel Manicures?

The options are endless when you’re at the nail salon; before picking out a color or design, you should know what type of manicure to get. Some options include gel, acrylics, dip powder, and shellac; gel manicures and shellac may seem similar, but they have some differences that might make you choose one over the other.
Shellac nails are relatively new but are gaining popularity quickly; this manicure is the perfect blend between gel manicures and regular polish, so no chemicals are required. Shellac manicures are hardened using ultraviolet light and they last around two weeks without chipping, whereas gel manicures last up to three weeks.
Shellac manicures are mixed with regular polish so it’s much easier to remove, unlike gel nails that require acetone and can negatively impact your nail health. The downside of shellac manicures is that the brand, CND, does not have many color options on the market, but when it comes to nail health, shellac is much safer and less harsh on your nails.
