Here's How To Look And Feel Better In Your Social Media Pictures
By STEPHANIE HARPER
Posing While Seated
Christine Buzan on TikTok says to avoid sitting back in the chair as it hides the length of your torso; instead, sit on the edge of the chair and turn to a 45-degree angle. Then, extend your first leg and slightly bend your second leg, and point both feet so your legs connect at the knees.
Posing in Groups
Instead of posing side-by-side, stagger the bodies while connecting at the shoulders, and tilt your head towards one another to create a cohesive look. You can also rest your hand on someone’s arm or shoulder instead of dangling your arm awkwardly.
Arm Slimming Pose
If you don’t want to expose your arms, try standing at a 45-degree angle and roll your shoulders back before bending your arms, so your arms appear slimmer. By pulling your arms away from the camera, they will look smaller than they are, and you can turn your body slightly sideways to enhance their slimness.
Waist Slimming Pose
Pose in a mirror to determine if you like how you look with your hips pushed backward or forward; for instance, those with a lower stomach shelf may look slimmer with their hips pushed back. You can also wear something to make your waist appear slimmer, like waist trainers or shapewear.
Hiding a Double Chin
Simply standing in front of the camera makes any double chin appear more pronounced. Instead, place your weight on your back leg crossing your other leg in front then thrust your hips back slightly and complete the pose by pushing your forehead toward the camera.
