Can You Use Hemorrhoid Cream To Treat Undereye Bags?
By MARY WOJCICKI
Some TikTok users swear by hemorrhoid cream like user @sheetaldeo1 who said this product will “get rid of all your undereye wrinkles in less than three days.” Beauty professionals also use this topical ointment, so some are wondering if they should ditch their expensive eye creams and use hemorrhoid cream instead.
Dermatologist Purvisha Patel says you shouldn’t use hemorrhoid cream to treat undereye bags if it contains steroids because it can result in “further skin thinning and lightening.” Dermatologist Nava Greenfield said, “The eyelid skin is extremely sensitive and can respond poorly to harsh ingredients,” so it’s safe to say hemorrhoid cream is not your solution to undereye bags.
Plastic surgeon Michelle Yagoda says it “can clog pores and cause breakouts,” and it “may contain lanolin that can cause contact dermatitis.” If this hasn’t yet deterred you from the dangers of this cream, another dermatologist warns, “usage over time can affect your adrenal glands, which are responsible for your body's response to stress.”
