10 Easy Ways To Remove Self-Tanner From Your Hands
By JELENA ASKA
Baking Soda
Mix 2 tablespoons of baking soda and a little bit of coconut oil to remove self-tanner. This is very effective and does not irritate the skin. Baking soda soothes the skin and helps with irritation, itching, pain, and redness.
Baby Wipes
Carry baby wipes in your purse in case you don’t have time to go back home and rub the self-tanner off your hands. Baby wipes are mess-free, gentle, and convenient; use them in spots where your skin is streaky and stained.
Exfoliating Gloves & Oils
If there is a large area covered in self-tanner, use exfoliating gloves with olive or coconut oil and gently rub on your skin until the self-tanner comes off. Exfoliating gloves are great in general, especially in your pre-tan routine because the gloves will remove dead skin cells and leave you with smooth skin.
Whitening Toothpaste
If you have orange hands, rub a small amount of whitening toothpaste to get rid of the mistake. However, be cautious as toothpaste can irritate sensitive skin, so if your skin starts to itch or become red, remove it immediately and apply a soothing cream over the area.
Steam Your Hands
Use a facial steamer or heat a pot of water and place your hands above it so the steam can break down the self-tanner, but be careful to not burn your hands. Steam your hands for three to five minutes and check if some of the self-tanner can rub off.
