The Worst-Dressed Celebs At The 2025 SAG Awards
The 2025 Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards brought together some of the biggest names in Hollywood on Sunday, February 23, uniting them at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California. Whether you went into the event on team "Wicked" or team "The Substance" — which both had nominations for best actress — you were bound to have a good time at this year's show, with the nominations including a lot of phenomenal women. For instance, Pamela Anderson was nominated for best actress for "The Last Showgirl," while Nicola Coughla was nominated for best actress in a drama series for Shondaland's "Bridgerton." In fact, Nicola Coughlan's "Bridgerton" Season 3 press-tour outfits were so good that we were equally excited to see what she'd show up in tonight — and she didn't disappoint.
The SAG Awards came just one week after the BAFTAs, for which we also rounded up the worst-dressed celebs, and one week before the end of awards season, with the Oscars poised to sunset the fanfare for the last year of film, television, and music on March 2. But let's not get ahead of ourselves: From Kerry Washington to Demi Moore, these celebs' fashions ultimately let us down at the 2025 SAG Awards (and we'll refrain from making any puns about their stylists making their looks sag).
Brooke Shields' SAG Awards outfit left us with blurry vision
"Mother of the Bride" actor Brooke Shields strolled up to the 2025 SAG Awards in a metallic dress that looked like a disco ball had completely unfurled. Now, don't get us wrong: Armor-inspired metallics have been a runway trend in recent years, but they're usually smoother and in unique silhouettes that complement their bling-y appearance. However, Shields' look appeared exactly like a disco ball, which left our eyes hurting and the actor looking bulky thanks to the material being so stiff.
Kerry Washington's pink outfit didn't make us blush
"Scandal" star Kerry Washington has worn a few pink red-carpet looks this year, and they've all, unfortunately, been rough. For instance, Washington was one of the worst-dressed celebs at the 2025 Golden Globes because of how she styled a bubblegum-pink bodycon dress, and at the SAG Awards tonight, we have a similar complaint. We love the sheer, floral material, but it's too much of a good thing. Had it stopped where the skirt portion of her outfit began, we'd have more of a beautiful contrast — and she wouldn't look so swallowed up in the fabric.
Kristen Bell's SAG Awards outfit did not take us to The Good Place
Kristen Bell, known most recently as Joanne in Netflix's "Nobody Wants This," presented a green-and-black dress on the 2025 SAG Awards' carpet, and it's safe to say that it didn't leave us green with envy. The dress' colors were fine, and it did have a decent cinch in the middle. However, the dress was otherwise shapeless, which did a great disservice to Bell. Plus, her lack of accessorizing — there were no bracelets or necklaces in sight — left the dress attempting to do all of the heavy lifting. That said, her hair looked lush and gorgeous!
Elizabeth McLaughlin showed up to senior prom, not the SAG Awards
"Hand of God" actor Elizabeth McLaughlin's dress at the 2025 SAG Awards could have been cute if it were a bit more intentional, but as it stands, this look felt more appropriate for a senior prom than an awards show of this caliber. Specifically, the silver, glittery portion of the dress was too small to be impactful — it flirted with avant-garde fashion but was never fully realized. A silver necklace and/or shawl could've helped tie this look together without changing the dress itself.
Jodie Foster's SAG Awards outfit looked like she was modeling a rug
Jodie Foster is a legend; there's no denying that. From "Silence of the Lambs" to "True Detective," she's put butts in seats for decades. That said, her dress at the 2025 SAG Awards looked like she was modeling a rug. The shade of brown was too dark to be able to see its admittedly charming fringe, and the top portion truncated her. If the top portion was cut just a little lower, it would've done wonders for her. We've seen her rock other gorgeous, full-coverage looks this year, including at the Critics Choice Awards a few weeks ago, but this dress simply did her no favors.
Monica Barbaro's SAG Awards dress made us see red
The 2025 SAG Awards didn't have a red carpet — it was a classy gray instead — but that may be because "Top Gun: Maverick" actor Monica Barbaro wore it wrapped around her body. Barbaro's dress was, for all intents and purposes, fine, and we've even argued before that the little red dress is a timeless take on the classic LBD. However, fine doesn't really cut it at the SAG Awards, an event where everyone else is dressed really elegantly. The dress' material looked thin and cheap, unfortunately, and it was perhaps a touch too sensual compared to everyone else's outfits.
Demi Moore's dress looked like it was ready for 2 different events
Demi Moore is both stunning and incredibly talented, so it hurts us to put her on our worst-dressed list for the 2025 SAG Awards. That said, this outfit rightfully deserved to be here — and is actually a similar mistake to Ariana Grande's outfit at the BAFTAs last week. The dress is split into two materials and aesthetics: half leather that looks like a dominatrix's dream and half plush, billowy fabric that looks cozy enough to sleep in. There are ways to make this dichotomy work, but simply splicing them together isn't the way. Plus, black fabric is hard to make pop because it all blends together, so you can't fully make out the billowy fabric in the middle of the dress.
Zooey Deschanel sadly served a magician-chic look at the SAG Awards
Zooey Deschanel's style transformation typically sees the "New Girl" star honing her fashion sense, but at the 2025 SAG Awards, she sadly regressed. In an outfit that can only be described as magician-chic, Deschanel looked like she was ready to try to pull a rabbit out of a hat right on the carpet. Did she look good? Always. Was the look too costumey for this event? Absolutely. Overall, it would've fared better at a murder-mystery dinner.
