The Worst-Dressed Celebs At The 2025 BAFTAs
The 78th British Academy Film Awards, better known as the 2025 BAFTAs, swooped in on Sunday, February 16, to take our minds off of post-Valentine's Day blues and dreary February weather. Held at London's Royal Festival Hall and hosted by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, the event honored the latest and greatest contributions to the silver screen. Stars from the United States to the United Kingdom came together at the sparkling soirée across the pond, with guests like Gwendolyn Christie, Demi Moore, and Pamela Anderson gracing the red carpet and nominations for leading actress (our most nail-biting category) including Mikey Madison of "Anora," "Wicked" lead Cynthia Erivo, and Demi Moore of "The Substance."
Considering the U.K.'s contributions to the fashion sphere, from Vivienne Westwood to Mary Quant and Alexander McQueen, it's natural to expect nothing less than the best on the BAFTAs red carpet. Indeed, some attendees took our breath away with their stunning senses of style; Pamela Anderson, Camila Cabello, Cynthia Erivo and Anna Kendrick were just a few charming contenders for the night's best-dressed. Still, there are always a handful of stars whose sartorial selections are far from enchanting. As such, Glam got to work to bring you 10 of the worst-dressed celebs at the 2025 BAFTAs — and some of these A-list offenders may come as serious shocks.
Ariana Grande's avant-garde Louis Vuitton look wasn't our favorite pink frock
Ever since joining the cast of "Wicked," Ariana Grande has shown us that she's a big fan of rocking puffy, pink pieces, from red carpets to press walks. Take Ariana Grande's 2024 Oscars look, which was very drag-inspired, for example. Now, while we're usually quite fond of her dreamy, pastel picks, we weren't nearly as thrilled with her choice of dress at the 2025 BAFTAs. Between our outfit fatigue from her endlessly Glinda-coded garb and the eccentric cut of her billowing blush skirt — a custom Louis Vuitton design, for those curious — Ariana Grande style transformation took a hit at the 2025 BAFTAs and, thus, ended up on our worst-dressed list.
Vera Wang's black and white separates were a total bore
Like Ariana Grande, Vera Wang has a preferred color palette, and while the designer seriously sizzles in black-and-white styles, her 2025 BAFTAs look wasn't quite up to snuff. The combination of a black bandeau bra and curvy peplum overlay felt a bit off against her gauzy, floor-sweeping silk gown. And though styling a black leather jacket can certainly make some evening-wear pop, we just weren't feeling it against Wang's high-contrast getup. Furthermore, we know Wang adores rocking her signature sunglasses, but it would have been nice to see more of her lovely face on the red carpet.
Sophia Di Martino's delicate silk style faltered from her footwear
Marvel star Sophia Di Martino got serious style points for her champagne-colored dress at the 2025 BAFTAs, from its dramatic bishop sleeves to its retro-inspired silhouette. However, the devil's in the details, and we had to make some deductions for her footwear. Against her golden curls and cream-colored silk dress, the "Loki" actor's black, pointed pumps looked completely out of place. Ultimately, a simple swap to pastel or off-white footwear would have surely spared her from this list.
Coralie Fargeat simply couldn't make her puffer coat work on the BAFTAs red carpet
Now, don't get us wrong — love is an understatement to describe our feelings toward French director Coralie Fargeat's work in film, from masterpieces like 2024's "The Substance" to 2017's "Revenge." That said, it's fairly obvious where Glam stands on Fargeat's decision to sport a puffer coat on the BAFTAs red carpet, especially because there's definitely something glamorous happening underneath, as evidenced by the glitzy black fabric peeking out from under her outerwear's hem. Call it a directorial decision or foreshadowing to photo ops later in the night, but either way, Fargeat found a place among our worst-dressed stars at this year's BAFTAs.
Raya Abirached didn't rock our worlds in her all-white attire
Between her Old Hollywood-inspired hair and her crimson lips and nails, Lebanese presenter and TV personality Raya Abirached looked rather lovely at the 2025 BAFTAs. Sadly, it was the design of her monochromatic dress that let her down on the red carpet. Curvy-cut peplum tops featured prominently at this year's BAFTAs, and Abirached was yet another star who couldn't quite pull off the unusual new trend. What's more, her lacy maxi skirt looked way too similar to the doily drapes of a grandparent's den, earning her a prominent place among the worst-dressed celebs at this year's BAFTAs.
Molly-Mae Hague's sculptural separates struck out
We wouldn't quite call Molly-Mae Hague's 2025 BAFTAs look a little black dress, but it was a bland outfit choice nonetheless. The blond-haired beauty showed up in a drab set of separates featuring a very sculptural, broad-shouldered top. Though we could appreciate pieces of the look, from Hague's gold brooch to her chic, slicked-back bun, the ill-fitting sleeves and overall awkwardness of her buttoned blazer threw us for a loop.
Aurora Perrineau's awkward leather look did her few favors
American actor and model Aurora Perrineau looked absolutely ravishing at the BAFTA Film Awards Nominees Party just last night, which is why we were so saddened to add her to our worst-dressed list for her red-carpet appearance. Taking a page out of Ariana Grande's guide to avant-garde fashion, Perrineau opted for an ill-fitting chocolate gown with a leathery sheen. Despite Perrineau's adorable oversized hair bow and perfectly made-up face, the brunette beauty took home worst-dressed for her unflattering look on the BAFTAs red carpet.
Layering took away from Selena Gomez's gorgeous gown
It's incredibly rare to see Selena Gomez miss on the red carpet, but we have to give credit where it's due. In spite of her silky, swept-back locks and stunning champagne dress, our eyes were drawn to Gomez's off-the-shoulder undergarment. The peekaboo black top beneath her sparkling dress was vital to its design, but it felt like an awkward nod to the black-velvet prom gowns of yesteryear (aka the 1980s). Truth be told, we'd be far more impressed if Selena showed up in vintage Jessica McClintock finery in all its glory — wouldn't you?
Jessica Plummer's little black dress looked jumbled together
"EastEnders" star Jessica Plummer is a beauty, but her 2025 BAFTAs look was a little short of breathtaking. Still, anyone who's ever had to cobble together clean laundry to adhere to an all-black dress code, whether due to school uniform or soul-sucking retail employment, can empathize with Plummer's mishmashed attire at the 2025 BAFTAs. As many of us know, just because the pieces of an outfit are all the same shade doesn't mean that they're going to work together. In the end, we kinda dug Plummer's fur stole, though her lopsided leather belt, lace skirt, and semi-sheer stockings were lackluster.
Thomasin McKenzie's muted maxi dress truly missed the mark
New Zealand starlet Thomasin McKenzie's dress at the 2025 BAFTAs wasn't the only colorless design on this year's red carpet, but it was among the dullest. Though we fully support McKenzie's cute pixie cut and her classic red lip color, her plain, floor-length gown dragged the whole look down. Between its repetitive lace pattern and its stiff, straight neckline, a few small adjustments would've done this dress a world of good.
