Hailee Steinfeld's Steamy Super Bowl Commercial Outfit Has Heads Turning
"Hawkeye" and "True Grit" actor Hailee Steinfeld is not only a Hollywood performer but also a known football fan. Steinfeld roots for the Buffalo Bills and even collects the team's merch, which makes a lot of sense, as she's engaged to Bills quarterback Josh Allen, who she started dating in May 2023. And while Hailee Steinfeld's game-day looks could learn a thing or two from Taylor Swift, she's usually happy carving her own understated place in the WAG community — aka the wives and girlfriends of professional athletes.
Steinfeld's precedent for laidback stadium style may be why her latest move is attracting tons of attention. Finally, she's dovetailing her love of football with her flawless red-carpet style by starring in a Super Bowl commercial fully glammed up, including a jaw-droppingly gorgeous black gown with a deep neckline. How fabulous is it? Let's put it this way: While we suffered through a lineup of worst-dressed celebs at the 2024 Super Bowl, we're already predicting that Steinfeld's ad appearance will rank her among the best-dressed in 2025.
However, this commercial isn't for one of the expected sponsorship titans like Doritos or Geico. Instead, Steinfeld's inaugural Super Bowl spot (and her alluring ensemble) stands out for supporting an admirable cause: breast health and early cancer detection.
Hailee Steinfeld's sexy, low-cut dress is intended to grab attention
Companies bring their A-game for Super Bowl commercials, which can cost $7 million or more just to reserve 30 seconds of airtime. So, when pharmaceutical company Novartis decided to promote its "Your Attention, Please" breast-health campaign during the biggest game of the year, it recruited star power from Hailee Steinfeld — and dressed her in a provocative, gala-worthy gown to point everyone's focus in the right direction. "Let's give breasts the attention they deserve most," Steinfeld quips in sultry preview footage from the ad, which is already up on YouTube.
The clean, high-contrast lines of Steinfeld's black sheath dress are stunning, and the rest of her look in the commercial is equally flawless, from her sleek, middle-parted hair to her dramatically winged eye makeup. In fact, we hope this counts as part of the WAG makeup beauty trend because we'd love to copy Steinfeld's look for our next game-day outing. Her fans love it, too. "No matter who wins the Super Bowl, Hailee Steinfeld is the MVP," wrote one fan on X, formerly known as Twitter.
But for Steinfeld, participating in Novartis' vision was about much more than just dressing up and delivering lines to the camera. As she explained to Parade, it was about "taking this sort of fixation that society has on women's breasts already, and turning that attention to what matters the most as far as our breasts go. And that is our breast health."
Hailee Steinfeld and Novartis ad costar Wanda Sykes are passionate about their cause
Even before her bombshell Novartis commercial, Hailee Steinfeld was an advocate for breast health. As far back as 2014, when Steinfeld was just a budding teenaged performer, she was attending events like the Breast Cancer Foundation's Hot Pink Party fundraiser. By partnering with Novartis, she continues that advocacy today. "I, like so many people, know somebody that has been affected by breast cancer," she told People this January. So, for Steinfeld, appearing in the ad was "of the utmost importance to me personally and something I consider a great honor to be a part of."
Steinfeld is joined in the ad by renowned comedian Wanda Sykes, who, herself, is a survivor of breast cancer. As Sykes revealed in a press release for the Novartis campaign, "When I was 47, I went in for a breast reduction expecting a straightforward surgery ... I never imagined breast cancer would be lurking. It totally caught me off guard, and I'm pretty sure early detection saved my life." She went on to add, "As an avid football fan, I know the big game is the perfect time to remind women to know their risks, get checked regularly, and encourage others to do the same."
It's unclear whether Steinfeld or Sykes will also attend the Super Bowl in person. Unfortunately, the Buffalo Bills were knocked out of the running by the Kansas City Chiefs, so Steinfeld won't be cheering on her fiancé's team from the stands. Still, Novartis' ad spot is sure to be a highlight of the weekend. As Steinfeld summed it up in her conversation with Parade, "This is a bucket list moment, for sure, to be in a Super Bowl commercial — and this one of all ones."
