The Worst-Dressed Celebs At The 2025 Golden Globes

Some of us may still be recovering from ringing in the New Year, but the arrival of the 2025 Golden Globes is just beginning to ignite the awards season. Hosted by comedy icon Nikki Glaser — who practiced her monologue for the event a whopping 93 times before the big night — the 82nd Golden Globes shone a light on today's top talents, from A-list attendees like Ariana Grande and Alexandra Daddario to Angelina Jolie and Kerry Washington. If this year's Golden Globes are any indication to go by, this year is going to be filled with big (and bright!) things. Held at the storied Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, the first big awards show of the year was certainly one for the books.

Between Ariana Grande and Selena Gomez contending for the best performance by a female actor award for "Wicked" and "Emilia Pérez," respectively, and there being 26 new first-time nominees on the roster, there's going to be quite a lot to talk about come Monday morning. But let's keep it real for a moment, shall we? Yes, watching our favorite (and least favorite) stars vie for their very own Golden Globe is a joy, but all eyes are on the Golden Globes red carpet here at Glam. So, come along, all you movie and television stans out there, and let's check out the worst-dressed celebs at the 2025 Golden Globes.

Elle Fanning's leopard-laced look was a bit too wild

Elle Fanning's awards-show attire is typically top-notch, but her 2025 Golden Globes 'fit didn't drive us wild. We can appreciate the fiery vibes of a good leopard-print piece, but Fanning's spotted bustier felt a bit out of place against the star's elegant champagne-colored gown. On the other hand, Fanning's face card didn't decline whatsoever — the dewy blush she sported on the red carpet with her feline 'fit looked downright divine.

Kathryn Hahn's gilded gown may have been on theme, but it felt off

Wearing gold to the Golden Globes is a true power move, but unfortunately for "Agatha All Along" star Kathryn Hahn, it couldn't spare the multitalented marvel from Glam's worst-dressed list. Rocking an off-the-shoulder black top and 1980s-inspired black-and-gold belt, it's plain to see that Hahn's overall look had serious potential. The slouchy fit of her sleeves and skirt, however, were another story altogether. With just a touch more tailoring, we're sure that this brunette beauty could've easily swerved Gam's 2025 Golden Globes worst-dressed list.

Kerry Washington rocked a bubblegum frock, but excess accessories dulled her shine

Kerry Washington rarely misses, hence why we were more or less devastated to add her name to Glam's 2025 Golden Globes worst-dressed list. Let's be frank: Washington's electric-pink Balenciaga gown (complete with a chic mini-train!) looked smashing on the "Scandal" star. And while we adored her sheer, black tights and pointy heels, we felt the inclusion of jet-black opera gloves overpowered the overall look. On a positive note, Washington's highlighter-pink ensemble did inspire us to rewatch the fashion-packed '80s cartoon classic "Jem" for the umpteenth time, so we can't be too upset with her ensemble.

Lydia Brosnahan may have been all smiles, but her gray garb made us grimace

There's no denying that Lydia Brosnahan looked radiant on the red carpet at the 2025 Golden Globes, but we took issue with her full-length, newspaper-gray gown against the Golden Globe's beautiful blooming backdrop. And what a shame because everything else, from the model's perfectly slicked-back hair to her Studio 54-ready silver pumps, truly spoke to our style souls! Brosnahan looked beautiful despite the choice of concrete gray, so we can't wait to see what Lydia — who happens to be Rachel Brosnahan's stunning big sis, by the way! — serves up at the next awards show.

Kirsten Dunst took one for the worst-dressed team with a lackluster LBD

It's hard to say anything bad about blond bombshell Kirsten Dunst, especially when you grew up watching the New Jersey native shine in iconic flicks like "The Virgin Suicides" and "Marie Antoinette," but every Dunst has their day. On the Glam worst-dressed list, that is. Yes, unfortunately for one of our favorite screen stars of all time, Dunst's little black dress gave us ... well, nothing. Despite the gorgeous fit and drape of her onyx outfit, we wished she'd sported something sparklier to ring in the New Year on the red carpet.

Jodie Foster joined Dunst with another little black dress letdown

Regrettably, Jodie Foster's style pick for the 2025 Golden Globes gave us flashbacks to Kirsten Dunst's. While Foster's statuesque black gown had several redeeming features, it felt a bit boring considering the good-time vibes of the biggest night in entertainment thus far. It's not that we can't appreciate a little black dress moment, even when it's a casual one, but Foster is a shining star — and, in our humble opinion, one who should be decked out in something far, far brighter to kick off 2025.

Alexandra Daddario's sparkling cocktail dress was crying for more accessories

Because of her stunning style transformation, Alexandra Daddario is a favorite A-lister here at Glam, but even our favorites falter sometimes. Like Kerry Washington, Alexandra's attire was almost there. That said, we would have liked to have seen a couple more accessories to round out her dramatic style selection on the 2025 Golden Globes red carpet. A Swarovski choker, for instance, would have been a solid pick — plus, it would be a sweet nod to fellow Golden Globes guest Ariana Grande, the company's newly appointed brand ambassador.

Naomi Watts' unusual choice of outfit was close, but no cigar

We're sure that Naomi Watts' avant-garde dress at the 2025 Golden Globes was fun to design, but it didn't quite strike our fancy. Featuring layers upon layers of pink fabric, we've gotta say that it looked a whole lot like the Italian delicacy sfogliatelle, a flaky pastry better known as lobster tails in some parts. And now we're hungry for Italian pastries at a time when every Italian bakery is closed for the evening and have Watts to blame for that. Now, we'll forgive you, Watts, but this whole situation could have been avoided with a simple outfit swap.

Ali Wong's festive red finery tore our hearts (and our minds) to pieces

First off, a big round of applause to Ali Wong for her well-deserved 2025 Golden Globes win. In case you're just finding out, the charismatic beauty was awarded the Golden Globe for best performance in stand-up comedy on television after being nominated for her celebrated Netflix special, "Single Lady." Now that we've given her flowers, it's time to drag that outfit of hers. It's the first week of January, but many of us are still being haunted by red wrapping paper shards swept under couches, preserved in icy sidewalk paths, and stuffed into crevices of drugstore clearance racks across America thanks to the holidays. So why, oh why, Wong, must you remind us of the stuff on the red carpet, too?

Salma Hayek looked gorgeous as usual, but her gown gave us Hershey Park flashbacks

Wondering what Salma Hayek looks like in 2025? Yep, still as ethereally gorgeous as ever. With that newsflash out of the way, we can dig into the real reason we're all here: that outfit. Ever been to Hershey Park? If you haven't, just know that there are life-size mascots representing all our favorite Hershey's sweets wandering around out there. And if said mascots were to attend the Golden Globes, we think we know exactly what those cuddly, costumed chocolates would wear. That's right: a shimmering, cocoa-brown homage to the Chocolate River depicted in the seminal 1971 "Willy Wonka" film, just like Hayek did at the 2025 Golden Globes.
