Red Flags In Kaley Cuoco And Tom Pelphrey's Relationship From Our Love Coach

"The Big Bang Theory" star Kaley Cuoco, whose stunning style transformation we can't get enough of, and actor Tom Pelphrey, known for his previous soap opera work, began dating after meeting at the Hollywood premiere of the latter's series "Ozark" in the spring of 2022, and their relationship evolved pretty quickly. "I heard his voice, and I turned around, and it was like my life was over, or just starting. It hit me. It was love at first sight," Cuoco admitted to USA Today that May. "We were immediately connected. I do feel like I've known him my whole life, but I wasn't ready for him."

By the summer, they were social-media official, and in October of the same year, they announced they were expecting their first child. Naturally, we can't help but think that their relationship was a tad rushed, which is why we reached out to celebrity love coach Nicole Moore for exclusive expert insight on what else might be a red flag for the couple's future. Here's what she told us.

Kaley Cuoco and Tom Pelphrey were set up by their manager

In a 2022 conversation with USA Today, Kaley Cuoco revealed that her manager had set up her with Tom Pelphrey. "We have the same manager, and we were set up by [her], which is so Hollywood," Cuoco revealed at the time. While taking a leap of faith and letting your friends set you up on blind dates is quite common, our expert explains that their manager introducing them to each other could be a red flag.

"It could indicate that the couple initially got together more for business reasons than romance," Nicole Moore clarifies exclusively to Glam. "Hollywood is notorious for managers setting up romances to gain favorable attention from the media, so if the couple's relationship started this way, it could point to some inauthenticity in their romance."

Furthermore, Moore points out that "when one or both partners see the relationship as a career move," the odds that true love is involved are very small. Of course, there are exceptions, but we have to admit that getting together through a manager isn't really a super romantic love story.

Kaley Cuoco and Tom Pelphrey are in couples therapy

During a 2024 appearance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," Kaley Cuoco revealed that she and her fiancé, Tom Pelphrey, are doing couples therapy together. While many may consider this admirable — in fact, we think you should still seek couples counseling even if you have a healthy relationship — our expert explains that the fact that they do therapy together could also "indicate red flags in their relationship."

"Typically, couples seek out couples therapy due to big compatibility issues or recurring problems, so it's likely that there is some strife in their dynamic even though the two are open about loving each other very much," Nicole Moore tells Glam exclusively. "Interestingly, Kaley told the audience, 'You should all be in couples therapy,' which may actually indicate she has some underlying shame or anxiety about the fact that they're in couples therapy, and her technique to deflect that was to admonish the audience instead." Of course, it could be possible that the two are just trying to make their relationship even better, but doing therapy without a particular problem is unusual, especially with their busy schedules.

Tom Pelphrey claims he was unaware Kaley Cuoco starred in The Big Bang Theory

Kaley Cuoco portrayed Penny Hofstadter in the popular sitcom "The Big Bang Theory" for over a decade, and it's safe to say that most people in the entertainment industry have heard of her. However, Tom Pelphrey revealed to W Magazine in 2023 that he had no idea she had starred in such a famous show. "I hadn't seen Kaley in anything," he told the outlet. According to our love coach, this is very unlikely, and she sees the color red all over it.

"Given that the two shared the same manager, it's highly unlikely that Tom didn't know she starred on the show before they met," Nicole Moore tells us exclusively. "If Tom felt the need to pretend he wasn't aware of Kaley's career accolades before dating her, that's a big red flag." Moore adds that not knowing anything about your date in today's day and age is a bit odd: "It's very common for people to look up the person they're going on a date with, especially if it's a date set up by someone else, so it's hard to believe Tom didn't at least Google Kaley before they met."

Kaley Cuoco declared she would never get married again before getting engaged to Tom Pelphrey

Those who have been keeping up with Kaley Cuoco know that the actor has been married twice — first to former tennis player Ryan Sweeting from 2013 to 2016 and then to equestrian Karl Cook from 2018 to 2022. After her second divorce, Cuoco told Glamour in 2022 that marriage wasn't in the plans for her anymore. "I will never get married again," she said. "Absolutely not." Fast forward to August 2024, and the actor got engaged to Tom Pelphrey, presumably planning to marry him. Nicole Moore explains that her prior statement could be a red flag for her current relationship.

"While it's possible the relationship made her have a change of heart, it would be a red flag if Kaley said yes to marriage more due to Tom's desires to get married than her own," Moore shares exclusively with Glam. "If Kaley hasn't fully cleared her fears of marriage before proceeding into a marriage with Tom, those fears could rear their head later on in their relationship and cause trouble for the couple." The expert adds that "[s]tatistically, more than 70% of third marriages end in divorce, so the fact that this would be Kaley's third marriage makes the relationship less likely to succeed overall, according to the numbers."
