Beyoncé's Everyday Hair Is Absolutely Stunning

Singer. Businesswoman. Icon. Is there anything Beyoncé can't do? Based on a behind-the-scenes clip shared by Beyoncé's haircare line, Cécred, this Renaissance woman can even add "hair specialist" to her resume. The video, posted in September 2024, not only features the "Halo" singer sans makeup and extensions but shows Beyoncé's locks in all their unstyled glory — and we are so here for it.

While Beyoncé has been no stranger to braids and other protective hairstyles, these days we're more used to seeing her with long, mermaid-like tresses. When performing at a concert or stunning on the red carpet, Beyoncé often incorporates wigs and other extensions into her look, placing her among many other celebrities who rarely show off their natural curls. But that doesn't mean that Queen Bey's hair needs hiding. The star has luxurious, curly lengths of her own, which reach well past her shoulders in a waterfall of honey-toned gorgeousness.

As one might expect, fans went wild over the video reveal. "Not Beyoncé being 'Becky with the good hair' this whole time," marveled one Instagram commenter. "People who said it was a wig, where are you? Are you okay?" teased another. Of course, all this slayage doesn't come easy. Even for managing casual, everyday hairstyles, Beyoncé's hair needs dedicated TLC.

Beyoncé's hair is fabulous, but requires special care

The shock of seeing Beyoncé's miles and miles of real hair on display has naturally distracted many video viewers, but if there's one other thing to take away from this intimate look at the "Texas Hold 'Em" singer's routine, it's that maintaining all that hair takes work. In the tutorial, Beyoncé begins with the Cécred Clarifying Shampoo and Scalp Scrub, then moves on to the brand's Hydrating Shampoo and Moisturizing Deep Conditioner – emphasizing application technique and thorough rinsing all the way through — before finally drying her freshly cleansed hair.

Of course, it's no surprise that Beyoncé's washday regimen takes time and attention to detail. Many women find caring for their natural hair to be an intense labor of love, if not an outright chore. Plus, Beyoncé's long locks have had to endure years of dyeing and color treatments — and there's only so often you can safely bleach your hair without doing serious damage.

The performer herself acknowledged this challenge in the caption of another hair-centric Instagram post, writing, "Maintaining 25 years of blond on natural hair through all the experimenting I do has played a huge part in developing Cécred's products." Honestly, that caption alone tells us a lot of what we need to know about Cécred.

Beyoncé has proven the haters wrong about her natural hair

To those already following Beyoncé on Instagram, the Cécred tutorial may not have been as much of a surprise. In truth, the "Crazy in Love" singer had already shared a similar video on her own account in late April 2024, nearly five whole months before. This video shows a slightly alternate hair routine for her freshly colored hair, utilizing Cécred's Fermented Rice & Rose Protein Ritual in lieu of the scalp scrub and shampoo, then adding a touch of the Moisture Sealing Lotion before flat-ironing.

"The stigma and misconception is that people who wear wigs don't have long and healthy hair," Beyoncé narrates in a voiceover. "I've managed to keep my texture and my curls even with my hair so blond." Beyond addressing such mistaken ideas, the professionalism in this tutorial also seems like a gentle rebuke to haters who criticized Beyoncé for starting Cécred in the first place.

"I hope collectively we aren't quick to buy products from an entertainer with no expertise on hair," one user on X, formerly known as Twitter, posted after Beyoncé announced her haircare venture. But as another X user swiftly pointed out, this description of Queen Bey is far from accurate. "Beyoncé's mother is a licensed cosmetologist and owned one of the most successful salons in Houston for over 30 years, plus also owned a hair magazine in the '90s," they rebutted. "They are definitely experts on haircare. Sorry my love, but we will be purchasing."
