Taylor Swift And Brittany Mahomes' Latest Game-Day Looks Were Polar Opposites

There's been a lot of debate around the true nature of Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes' friendship, but we do know this: They both like to support their pro-athlete beaus. Brittany, wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, rarely misses a game, and Taylor, who's dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, shows up whenever she can. Taylor wasn't able to put in appearances at the team's recent showdowns in Atlanta and Los Angeles, but when the Kansas City Chiefs faced off against the New Orleans Saints on Monday, October 7, both WAGs were in attendance.

Whether you believe that these two are truly iron-clad besties or suspect red flags in Taylor and Brittany's friendship, their reunion seemed to be a sweet one. Unusually, Taylor and Brittany didn't sit together — instead, Taylor spent the game spectating with her dad, Scott Swift — but the duo did exchange hugs, smiles, and a few friendly words as they entered Arrowhead Stadium. On top of thrilling onlookers, this brief moment also underscored the parallels between Taylor and Brittany's game-day looks. Previously, Taylor and Brittany have had some fab twinning moments, but the two took very different routes for their Chiefs-Saints ensembles.

Taylor Swift isn't above sporting an oversized jersey to rep her team, but her look at the 2024 Chiefs-Saints game took a more fashion-forward approach. Swift showed up wearing a set of Vivienne Westwood co-ords in black, gray, and red — specifically, the designer's plaid Sunday Corset Top, which retails for $1,875 at the time of writing, and the Meghan Kilt, which currently goes for $1,010. The "Bad Blood" singer styled her Vivienne Westwood pieces with bare legs; black, knee-high platform boots; glitter freckles; and a short, gold chain that gently accentuated the top's romantic sweetheart neckline.

Naturally, Swift's ensemble set off a wave of reactions online. "Taylor looks STUNNING!!" one user captioned a video of the "Love Story" singer's stadium arrival on X, formerly known as Twitter. Redditors seemed to agree, with users in one Reddit thread writing, "She looks amazing, I love every part of her outfit," and, "This whole 'fit is just *chef's kiss.* Really love that she's been incorporating miniskirts, corsets, and high boots into her closet over the last few years."

Unfortunately, with the next leg of Swift's record-breaking Eras Tour set to kick off soon and many of her concert dates clashing with the Chiefs' play schedule, it may be a while before we see another game-day look from the performer. However, fashionistas won't be totally bereft — as shown in her wildly different outfit at the Chiefs-Saints game, Brittany Mahomes is still ready to serve top-tier looks for the rest of the season.

While some Swifties have previously accused Brittany Mahomes of taking too much inspiration from Taylor Swift in past outfits, Mahomes' style for the Chiefs-Saints game couldn't have been much more different from Swift's dainty plaid set. Instead, Mahomes seemed to pull from another pop princess: Britney Spears. The ex-soccer star arrived rocking a red, fierce Norma Kamali faux-leather jacket that retails for $454 at the time of writing, as well as the brand's matching High-Waist Boot-Leg trousers, which currently cost $325. Paired with black boots and her loose, blond tresses, the overall look hearkened back to a similar ensemble worn by Spears in the video for her mega-hit "Oops!... I Did It Again" in 2000, though Spears' original 'fit featured a single catsuit rather than separates.

Whether or not this homage was intentional, Mahomes was, as always, on theme, as red and black are the Chiefs' team colors. And while some of Mahomes' worst game-day looks have stirred up controversy in the past, this outfit inspired an outpouring of appreciation online. "She's pregnant and in vinyl! My queen," one fan commented on Mahomes' Instagram. Another chimed in, "This beautiful momma, looking fabulous in all red!" And many commenters observed that Mahomes is absolutely slaying during her current pregnancy, with one writing, "The glow is unreal!"
