The Worst-Dressed Celebs At The 2024 Emmys
The biggest evening in television is back again with the 76th Emmy Awards taking place at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, California. If it feels like just yesterday you last tuned into the Emmys, you're not alone. Due to television and film industry strikes in 2023, the 75th Emmy Awards premiered in January 2024 — making this the first time fans see two Emmys unfold in the same year. And in another first, father-son duo Eugene Levy and Dan Levy are set to host the 76th Emmys as a pair. "For two Canadians who won our Emmys in a literal quarantine tent, the idea of being asked to host this year in an actual theater was incentive enough," the two said in an official statement, per The Walt Disney Company. Other A-list celebs in attendance tonight include Ayo Edebiri of "The Bear" and Maya Rudolph of "Loot," both up for Outstanding Lead Actress In A Comedy Series.
Still, the only thing better than seeing your favorite series win big at the Emmys is scanning the red carpet for the best and worst in award show attire. To our surprise, some of the worst-dressed celebs at the 2024 Emmy Awards this January included stylish stars like Selena Gomez, star of "Only Murders in the Building" and "Poker Face" lead Natasha Lyonne. But which boldly-dressed beauties earned the unfortunate title this time around? While there weren't many daring outfits on display, there were plenty of worst-dressed celebs at the 76th Emmys.
Gillian Jacobs
Right off the bat, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native Gillian Jacobs nailed a spot on Glam's worst-dressed list with a less-than-ravishing red ensemble at the 2024 Emmy Awards. Between the oversized buttons, peplum waist, and floor-skimming hemline, "The Bear" star resembled an '80s baby playing dress-up with their mom's workwear closet. On a positive note, Jacobs' bunny-blond hair looked glossy and gorgeous in a cute center-part.
Greta Lee
Two Emmy ceremonies in one year and a father-son hosting duo? There's a first for everything, it seems — even for worst-dressed celebs. In a surprise twist at the 76th Emmy Awards, Greta Lee bored us to tears in a white Loewe dress seemingly ripped straight from the living room curtain rods at grandma's house. While it broke a longstanding Glam tradition of showcasing dull little black dresses, "The Morning Show" star's latest look didn't hold a candle to the white Loewe design she wore to the 2024 Met Gala.
Paulina Dávila
Echoing the blandness of Greta Lee's get-up, Paulina Dávila arrived at the 76th Emmys in a strapless white gown paired with gold accessories. The brunette beauty's hair and makeup looked lovely enough, but her blank page of a dress was among the least memorable ensembles at this year's Emmy Awards.
Naomi Watts
Themed dress isn't just for the Met Gala anymore, as evidenced by this rumpled green gown spotted on Naomi Watts at the 76th Emmys. Emerald green proved to be a popular color on this year's red carpet, but this strapless dress was a swing and a miss. With its tiny train, folded neckline, and extra-roomy skirt, the design looked like a satin duvet disguised as evening wear.
Connie Britton
It pains us to place Connie Britton on our Emmys worst-dressed list, but the "American Horror Story" alum's strapless black dress wasn't her best red-carpet look. On the other hand, the scream queen's signature tresses reminded us of Brigitte Bardot's iconic '60s hair with its bouffant style — a major plus in our book.
Elizabeth Debicki
"The Crown" star Elizabeth Debicki took home the award for Outstanding Supporting Actress, but we weren't so smitten with her choice of dress at the 2024 Emmys. Even though the actor's black velvet gown fit her like a glove, the overall look and minimalistic accessories left us wanting a little more.
Nicola Coughlan
Since our recent roundup of the worst-dressed celebs at the 2024 VMAs, we've endured nightmares of silver gowns on repeat. Determined not to let this costumey trend die anytime soon, "Bridgerton" beauty Nicola Coughlan arrived at the 2024 Emmys in a sparkling avant-garde look. Armor-inspired metallics have been trending for quite some time now, and we've grown tired of these ultra-glittery garments on the red carpet.
Ella Purnell
Another A-lister channeling the salad days of Studio 54 was Ella Purnell, who rocked a deep V-cut dress with a mirror-like silver finish to the 76th Emmys. While we can appreciate her commitment to the style trends of the '70s, our previous point still stands: Silver gowns are growing stale!
Sofía Vergara
We thought we'd seen Jessica Rabbit-inspired looks on the red carpet before, but Sofía Vergara's racy red dress gave us major flashbacks to "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" at the 76th Emmy Awards. Vergara's even got Jessica's side part down pat — all she needs is a little sparkle and purple gloves to pull off a successful cosplay. But she still deserves a round of applause for her appearance on this year's Emmys worst-dressed list, as we won't be forgetting it anytime soon.
