The Hottest Color Trends For Spring 2025 We Saw At New York Fashion Week
For designers, stylists, and fashionistas alike, New York Fashion Week is perhaps the most wonderful time of the year. Both the Manhattan streets and front-row seats are filled with nothing but iconic looks, as attendees get a glimpse into the freshest trends for the following season.
Among the many amazing shows in September 2024 was the Alice + Olivia presentation by Stacey Bendet, which we were lucky enough to attend. Held on September 7, the show exhibited the brand's Spring 2025 collection through a series of whimsical and vibrant displays, which featured an array of colors we simply could not ignore. "The collection is an ode to both imagination and what I call wearable couture," Bendet said in a statement. The show featured a variety of silhouettes and embellishments, but it was the color scheme that ultimately took our breath away.
Bendet's show wasn't the only one to embrace bold colors, either. New York Fashion Week was filled with monochromatic outfits in shades of chambray blue, banana yellow, and true red, plus plenty of all-black and all-white looks. Each runway show gave us a sneak peek at the hottest color trends for spring 2025.
Primary and pastel colors took the spotlight
The color forecast for spring? Primary all the way, as shades of blue, yellow, and red were spotted throughout New York Fashion Week. When paired together, the colors create a very fresh yet classic feel, a combination we'll all be looking forward to following a long winter.
Try wearing all three colors in unison through the use of floral prints or striped trousers. You can even accessorize with a bright red pump to really pull the look together. Looking for something more simple yet equally as effective? Embrace New York Fashion Week's monochromatic trend with a chambray blue trouser and duster combo to elongate the body, or an a-line dress in a gorgeous banana yellow shade. Finish off both looks with a swipe of red lipstick to instantly add a pop of color.
If you like a more subdued look, try a flowy skirt or dress in butter yellow or pastel pink, colors that also made frequent appearances on the runway in September 2024. Add interest to the look by wearing a mix of textures, or try fabrics with romantic floral or lace embellishments. Pure white is also having a moment, with designers showing off clean, tailored dresses, as well as loosely draped skirts and pants.
