Technically speaking, the sheer trend has adopted a modest, less racy feel in 2024, but in this case, we're willing to grant an exception seeing as Ella Emhoff served off-duty model chic with this 2023 New York Fashion Week look. Each element was meticulously and mindfully styled; everything from the mesh top and leather pouch handbag to the flared tailored trousers and slim pointed-toe boots — 2024's sleeker alternative to chunky boots — combined perfectly to result in Emhoff's most iconic 'fit to date.

At the Puppets and Puppets Spring 2024 fashion show, Ella Emhoff wore an asymmetric tunic with acid-wash jeans, platform heels, and a (literal) banana handbag. She recently showcased a Puppets and Puppets cookie handbag at the 2024 Democratic National Convention (DNC), which was an interesting choice to pair with a preppy Thom Browne suit, to be sure, but the rest of the outfit made up for the odd accessory. 

That isn't the case here with this underwhelming look, which would have suited a burgundy handbag for a more striking pop of color or different bottoms for a more stylish feel to match the top and shoes.

On the final day of the 2024 DNC in Chicago, Illinois, Ella Emhoff took to the stage to support Vice President Kamala Harris in an elegant off-the-shoulder dress by TikTok-famous designer Joe Ando. Emhoff had already stolen the show at the 2024 DNC with two groundbreaking looks, but this ballerina dress threw everyone for a loop once again. The dress features a white pleated skirt with a ruffled dropped waistline, Mary Jane flats, and a silky, periwinkle bodice — one of the hottest summer 2024 colors. Combined with slouchy crew socks, it was impossible not to stand out in this delightfully unconventional outfit.

During the Fall/Winter Womenswear Paris Fashion Week in 2023, Ella Emhoff posed outside Dries Van Noten in a red striped polo shirt, along with a matching beanie, black duster coat, and charcoal-gray bottoms. Out of all of her outfits, this ranks the lowest due to the obnoxious purple brooch, striped mint suspender belt, and the peek-a-boo Calvin Klein boxers. The stacked boxer trend somehow kicked off with celebrities such as Sabrina Carpenter with her preppy Miu Miu ensemble and even made its way into Black Lively's "It Ends With Us" wardrobe, but we're glad it ended there.

While strolling around New York City in March 2024, Ella Emhoff took a notoriously difficult outfit and made it her own through intentional accessorizing and unique base pieces, creating the perfect balance. As a fashion designer and model, it should come as no surprise that Emhoff can pull off an all-denim look with such character — and yet it's still unexpected due to her eclectic style. Here, she coordinated a sleek black handbag with matching Brogues and a belt. She elevated the look with an oversized patchwork jacket with contrasted shades of blue that work seamlessly for this denim-on-denim 'fit. 

While attending the Loewe Fall/Winter Womenswear show during Paris Fashion Week on March 3, 2023, Ella Emhoff donned a plaid, moss-green coat that was bejeweled with an array of pins and ornaments. She paired the coat with a light-green handbag, white shirt, gray bottoms, and silver sunglasses. Although the ensemble was fun and intriguing, it falls low on the list due to the Luna Lovegood-esque ("Harry Potter") spectacles, the denim detail on her shoes, and the fact that the other elements in her outfit took away from the coat's potential.
