Candace Cameron Bure's Most Inappropriate Outfits Yet

Candace Cameron Bure has been a pop culture figure ever since she was a little girl in "Full House." After graduating from the series, she went on to star in several movies, including several from Hallmark's Christmas catalog. In 2014, she starred in "Dancing with the Stars" where she and her partner placed third. Although a beloved actor of the '90s, the "Switched for Christmas" star often finds herself in the middle of controversy and heated discussions.

It seems that the "Fuller House" alum is a person that people love to hate, particularly when it comes to her wardrobe. To be fair, the actor has a great fashion sense, and her sartorial choices are elegant, chic and to-the-point. So why is she so frequently roasted on social media and slammed for her "inappropriate" attire?

Most of the time, her fashion mistakes are not so much "fashion" mistakes per se, but rather the criticism stems from how her clothes clash with her Christian faith. Cameron Bure is a devout Christian with conservative views which have sometimes landed her in hot water. Because of her traditional stance on issues like sexuality, the actor is often scrutinized for her "un-Christian" outfits, by both her Christian fan base and those with opposing views who find her to be hypocritical. We've rounded some of these notable appearances so far, and even though most have to do with how she presents herself as a Christian, some did just fail to land.

When the former co-host of "The View" posted an Instagram picture of herself wearing a T-shirt saying "NOT TODAY SATAN," she was probably referencing her Christian faith. However, precisely because of her LGBTQ views, the shirt was a "contradiction at its finest," as one viewer commented. Another was quick to caution her, "I don't think you know what this shirt means. It's a drag queen term." Drag queen Bianca Del Rio, who is credited with popularizing the term, also commented on the post, "IF ONLY, THIS HOMOPHOBIC, REPUBLICAN KNEW ..."

The former DWTS contestant is often criticized for her stance on LGBTQ topics, such as the time she supported an Oregon bakery's refusal to make a wedding cake for a lesbian couple. During a debate on "The View," Candace Cameron Bure said, "I don't think this is discrimination at all." Then in August 2023, she wore a T-shirt reading "Faith, Hope, Love," leaving some to argue that she was not showing much love or support for the LGBTQ community. "Faith. Hope. Hate. More like it," one user commented under her Instagram post. 

As a Christian, Candace Cameron Bure is expected not to celebrate Halloween due to the holiday's pagan roots. However, not only does she love the spooky season, but she makes sure to flaunt her perfect pop-culture Halloween costumes on social media. Needless to say, she received some harsh criticism for these outfits (which we happen to love!). "How you celebrate HALLOWEEN if you are Christian?" posed one Instagram user. Others on Facebook called out her double standards, noting that she didn't want to wear revealing outfits on DWTS. 

"My heart wants to tell stories that have more meaning and purpose and depth behind them," Candace Cameron Bure told The Wall Street Journal following her 2022 exit from Hallmark (which was gearing towards LGBTQ content). However, when she decided to flawlessly channel big Barbie energy, critics were left wondering how leotards fit in with her declaration. One outraged Instagram user wrote, "Can't show two women kissing on tv but you can wear skimpy undergarments on social media and post them and that's fine."

There's nothing we love more than summer bikini flicks, and Candace Cameron Bure looks phenomenal in hers. However, some would argue that her summer 2022 anniversary celebration photos, which showed her in a green bikini enjoying the sun in Miami, were a tad inappropriate given her conservative views. "Keep it private, Ms. 'Christian,'" one Instagram user challenged her. When she posted a different bikini photo on Instagram back in 2017, another user was quick to show the same sentiment: "Your nakedness is not for your husband? According to the Bible." 

You would expect that after the backlash she received in 2021 for choosing to wear red at a wedding, Candace Cameron Bure would make a more demure choice for her own son's wedding so as to avoid stealing the spotlight. However, the public was stunned to see the mother of the groom in a strapless golden metallic dress, which sparkled and dazzled and, yes, overshadowed her daughter-in-law. One comment under the Instagram post put it bluntly: "The gold dress is simply NOT appropriate attire for MOB."
