And now it seems as if the pop star has once again shown that she prefers a more refined and simple look by embracing a classy-with-a-touch-of-edge aesthetic. 

For the Disney Legends Awards Ceremony, Cyrus opted to rock a simple black McQueen pantsuit with a classy hairstyle reminiscent of the late '90s and the early aughts. The star, who has rocked everything from ultra-long extensions to a short pixie, is currently donning the classic layered haircut with chunky blond highlights.

At the 2024 Disney Legends Awards Ceremony, Miley Cyrus rocked long layers with curtain bangs, a haircut that undoubtedly reminded plenty of us of the style she rocked on "Hannah Montana" — particularly when she was portraying Miley Stewart. While this new hairstyle may seem like a big change, Miley Cyrus had already rocked a similar haircut and color at the 2024 Grammy Awards. However, for that occasion, the star's hair was styled in a voluminous and eye-catching way, which hid some of the highlights and layers. "My hair is some sort of reflection for my sanity, my sexuality, my sobriety," Cyrus said on "The Howard Stern Show" in 2020 (via Business Insider). For PureWow, celebrity hairstylist Millie Morales explained that modern chunky highlights aren't exactly the same as those that were big two decades ago. "The color trend has evolved significantly since the early 2000s. Back then, chunky highlights were high-contrast with a stark difference between the highlights and base color," Morales said. "Today, while the boldness remains, there's a greater emphasis on blending the colors to achieve a more polished, cohesive look." Whether Cyrus decides to keep the timeless 'do or she debuts something new that we can only imagine, it's clear that the pop star's most recent look is serving up class in spades.
