Jeweler Tells Us The Jewelry Trends We'll See Everywhere In Fall 2024

Let's talk about the jewelry pieces that will be taking over in fall 2024. While you won't have to ditch all your old favorites to make way for the new, some of the previous crazes we've loved are sadly bidding us adieu in favor of these hot new trends. For example, minimalist watches are making way for larger-than-life, anything-but-subtle XXL jewelry. On the other hand, some trends are forever — diamonds will never not be in!

To find out the "it" jewelry trends for fall 2024, Glam spoke exclusively to expert George Khalife of George the Jeweler. "I think trends are influenced a lot by the seasons and defined by what we watch and see on social media. There is a reason designers drop seasonal collections after all and celebrities and influencers are the first to wear them on social media," he says.

So, do take notes, because if you want to slay the accessorizing game, these pieces should be on your radar (and around your neck, too!). From dazzling tennis necklaces to bold statement pieces and unique chokers, these are the jewelry crazes that will be everywhere this fall. Are you ready to up your game?

The tennis necklace is the embodiment of elegance

The gorgeous tennis necklace is set to be one of the hottest jewelry trends for September and October, after already being spotted on the necks of celebrities like Zendaya, Nicola Peltz-Beckham, and Hailey Bieber. With the current availability of diamonds grown in a lab, the historically popular necklace is becoming more and more accessible, and it comes as no surprise that this is the first trend that celebrity jeweler George Khalife mentions during our exclusive interview.

"First one is the tennis necklace," he shares, adding that his clients enjoy layering multiple tennis necklaces of different lengths at once. "I am not necessarily talking about the huge ones but more so the daintier, casual, everyday ones."

As we step into fall, our necklines go higher and higher, to shield us from the cold. Can you think of anything classier than the stark contrast between your black sweater and the sparkling diamonds around your neck? "You could even throw a diamond cross or any diamond charm on the longer one for a cool, fresh Kardashian-inspired look," Khalife suggests.

The ultra-sexy choker will reign supreme during the upcoming fall season

Everyone gasped when Taylor Swift appeared during the 2024 Grammys with a rather unique choker. But the choker finally makes sense because these vintage pieces are officially back in style. According to our celebrity jeweler George Khalife, chokers "have been a staple in everyone's jewelry box for a while now and it's looking like they're here to stay." And we couldn't be happier, because they are ideal for fall weather ensembles. As Khalife tells us exclusively, "As we approach the colder seasons, clothes get bulkier, sweatshirts are going to be coming out. That 'go to' set of four or five layered necklaces, which we have been rocking all summer, won't look as good in a sweater as it does on our summery sun-kissed bare skin."

Khalife suggests replacing our longer necklaces with chokers, and the bigger, the bolder, the better! In fact, you can even wear multiple layers and different styles if you want. Because when it comes to chokers, Khalife confirms that "anything goes." He recommends pairing the "Cassie" choker from his collection "with a dainty tennis necklace ... or a herringbone chain for a chic fall look."

Hoops are coming back with a vengeance

"With less room to show your personal style off on the neck, more room is left to style the other areas," celebrity jeweler George Khalife reveals during our exclusive interview. "This brings us to the next thing which is already making its comeback — thick hoops and bigger earrings. I love a good hoop. They are fun and feminine." And we second that! Hoop earrings are eternal classics. However, there is a kick to the trend, as Khalife says. New hoop trends call for thicker hoops in lieu of thinner, subtler ones.

"If you have more than one ear piercing, pair a hoop with a diamond stud (hoop in the first piercing, stud behind it please)," Khalife says. However, if you are not a hoop kind of person, how do you accessorize your ears and stay on par with fall 2024 trends? To this, our jeweler says, "If hoops are not your thing, you know that one pair of unique earrings that you've kind of had your eye on but you keep thinking, 'Can I pull that off?' Yes you can." As we've discovered, XXL pieces are trending. "Try them on, play with different styles; you'll be surprised how good they look," Khalife advises.

Diamonds are a girl's best friend

Marilyn Monroe nailed it when she sang "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend" in her stunning pink slim-fitting dress and satin opera gloves. So grab your BFF (we mean diamond jewelry) and get ready to put your best foot forward into the colder fall season.

"Diamonds always look great but for some reason they look even better with the colder seasons," celebrity jeweler George Khalife tells Glam exclusively. "I predict not only a lot of tennis necklaces, but tennis bracelets and diamond bands." So don't be afraid to sparkle and shine, because diamonds are definitely in. However, if you need an extra piece of expert advice on how to style your diamonds, Khalife has you covered. "Match the tennis bracelets with a diamond band for a classy icy look, that can be dressy or casual." On that note, diamonds remain a popular choice for engagement ring options this season, with marquise cuts reigning supreme.

What quiet luxury? Bold statement pieces are taking over

If you are a fervent advocate for the quiet luxury aesthetic, we have some bad news for you. According to our exclusive interview with jeweler George Khalife, bold statement pieces are taking over. This is your moment to shine and express your personal style through chunky pieces. "Whether it is a bracelet, a ring, earrings, or a necklace," you can play around with your accessories and your 'fits to create your own unique ensemble. Pour your character into your jewelry, and do so with passion!

As Khalife tells us, "If you have a cool statement ring, match it with a daintier bracelet or a simple gold choker and let your statement piece really shine." So, even though you can make a statement with your bold jewelry, do make sure that you balance your accessories overall. Don't go overboard. Make sure that only one of your pieces is bold and that the rest are quieter and complement it, rather than causing a clash.
