Here's What Jennifer Aniston Has Said About Plastic Surgery
Jennifer Aniston — everybody's favorite girl next door — made her debut on the "Friends" cast when she was 25 years old. Three decades down the line since the show first aired in 1994, the stunning actor who introduced the Rachel haircut into pop culture is still as gorgeous as ever. So, what's her secret?
In the world of A-listers, plastic surgery and invasive facial procedures are not uncommon. "There is also this pressure in Hollywood to be ageless," the sitcom star told Yahoo! Life in 2014. "I think what I have been witness to, is seeing women trying to stay ageless with what they are doing to themselves. I am grateful to learn from their mistakes, because I am not injecting s**t into my face ... I see them and my heart breaks," she said. "I think, 'Oh god if you only know how much older you look.' They are trying to stop the clock and all you can see is an insecure person who won't let themselves just age."
Aniston has always been transparent and is one of those celebrities that have opened up about their plastic surgery experiences – or lack thereof. During a 2007 interview with People, she responded to rumors about her having had work done to both her nose and breasts. "It's funny. I had [a deviated septum] fixed — best thing I ever did," she said. "I slept like a baby for the first time in years. As far as all the other [rumors], as boring as it sounds, it's still mine. All of it. Still mine." So, if the only plastic surgery the former Rachel Green has admitted to is a rhinoplasty, how does she maintain her youthful appearance?
Does Jennifer Aniston get Botox injections?
Jennifer Aniston has admitted to getting Botox in the past, but said that the procedure isn't really for her (via the Daily Mail). She realizes that it's easy to get carried away once you begin these sorts of treatments, and it's equally difficult to put a stop to them once you get started. While she's not a supporter of such cosmetic procedures, she's also said that she just doesn't think the results of Botox look good on her.
However, during a 2023 interview with The Wall Street Journal, the "Friends" alum swore by peptide injections. "I do think that's the future," she said of the treatment. During the same interview, Aniston also confessed to trying out a salmon sperm facial, but wasn't sold on the therapy since she didn't notice any difference in her skin. A champion of aging gracefully, the "Cake" star will likely not be undergoing any plastic surgeries soon, but that doesn't mean she lets time take its course while doing nothing!
"[There are] so many things that women can do today with technology in terms of LED light therapy, good lasers that tighten the muscles, and massages for your face — and don't forget great creams. I think that's the route to go. I also understand that age is kind of awesome. I am fortunate enough to know ... all of these fabulous fearless women who are flawless, they embrace it," she told Yahoo! Life. "You know, to each their own; I don't judge it if you do it, but sometimes I wish I could beg the people I know, who I am very near and dear to, to not touch their face."
Aniston swears by drinking enough water and a healthy diet
Sans plastic surgeries, Jennifer Aniston's beauty secrets might just boil down to the good genetics she inherited from her Greek father and grandmother who didn't seem to age! But as the ancient Greeks used to say, "Syn Athena, kai Hera kinei," which means that not everything in life will simply be delivered to you by fate or the gods; rather, together with Goddess Athena, you can take actions that will help yourself to achieve your intended outcome.
As such, the "Along Came Polly" star doesn't rest on her laurels, simply thanking her lucky stars and expecting her Greek genes to do everything for her youthful appearance. Instead, Aniston is all about good habits that are simple to implement. "[I]t's also just water, drinking a lot of water, using really nice good products for your face," she told Yahoo! Life. "Don't overproduct, that's the other thing. Getting proper sleep is always important."
But that's not all. Aniston takes care of her diet — but isn't obsessively counting calories. According to a source in Us Weekly, "Jen's meals are rich in protein with a healthy amount of carbs and she also indulges in treats and cheat days. If she wants to enjoy a dirty martini or tequila, she'll splurge. It's no big deal." Additionally, the sitcom star exercises and meditates. Whatever she does, it's definitely working. As she told Vogue, "I'm in better shape than I was in my twenties; I feel better in mind, body, and spirit. It's all 100 percent better."
