 With two successful albums (7 million sold and counting) and 20-years under her belt, Joss Stone has undergone a major transformation! This British soul-singing sensation went from channeling a 70’s blond bohemian to a 60’s psychedelic red-head wild child. We chatted her up backstage at the Marc Jacobs show about her favorite fragrance, foundation, and what hair dye she used to give her a punk-y pretty-in-pink look all her own.

Marc, Cavalli, and Temperley. I really
like Temperley.
Favorite fragrance?
For a moment it was Cacharel Eden; then it went to Truth Calvin Klein, and then it was Escada Ibiza Hippie—that one you could eat it, it’s so good. But the best of all of them? It’s simple: Body Shop. There is a strawberry moisturizing cream. It smells so good. You don’t even need any perfume. It lasts the whole day. Everyone always comes up to me and says, You smell so good. I’m always like, It is just moisturizing cream honey. I paid like two bucks for it. Tell all the ladies, two bucks at Body Shop. Foundation of choice?
Oh, they always use different kinds on me. Right now I’m wearing Clinique. It’s nice and soft.
What’s your must-have mascara?
You know what the best thing to do is? If you want nice eyelashes, you have to go and get eyelash extensions, because mascara ain’t gonna help you.
Any eye shadows you
absolutely love?
For eye shadow, I like Nars. I like to be colorful with my eye shadows. They have such fun and glittery. Oh yeah, go to Ricky’s in New York City if ever you want colorful eye stuff or mascara or lashes—I love lashes.
I love your new funky haircolor. What is it?
Manic Panic. The color is Hot Hot Pink. You just bleach it and then put the color on. I just dyed it after Halloween.
And lastly, what do you never leave home without?
I hate when I don’t have lip balm. It’s a horrible feeling when you can’t find any, and it’s annoying when your lips are cracked. And gum as well. Gum always really important.
