If youre among those who speculate that the only thing better than Tina Fey doing Sarah Palin on Saturday Night Live would be Sarah Palin making a cameo on the show, there might be hope yet.

If the buzz is to be believed, the NBC show is working to get the vice-presidential candidate and Alaska governor on air before the election.

Although Saturday Night Live, like many other shows, doesnt comment specifically on bookings, a rep said, There are always talks with the candidates’ camps.

Theres also some buzz about Palin making an appearance on The View.

Sen. Barack Obama and Sen. John McCain have both made appearances, and View executive producer Bill Geddie says, The View has established itself as a place to be seen for both the presidential and VP candidates, their wives and/or husbands and they all have an open invitation to appear on the show.

After Michelle Rodriguez’s weekend visit, the folks at the Mayfair Hotel and Spa in Coconut Grove, Fla., may be rethinking those heavy brass knockers they have on every guest-room door.

Fellow guests at the recherch retreat say they were awakened at 9 a.m. Sunday to loud banging and the dulcet tones of Rodriguez, screaming at her roommate.

“I woke up Sunday morning to the sounds of two women yelling, and one of them was smashing the door knocker very loudly,” one exhausted guest tells us. “I peeked out and saw it was [Rodriguez]. She’s screaming, ‘Open up, let me in, b——!’”

The loud knocking continued for another five minutes, says the source, until the “Girlfight” star hollered, “If you don’t open up, you’re not getting your [pleasure toy] back.” The door creaked open.

The actress did not respond to requests for comment.

Over the weekend, Rodriguez was spotted hanging out at the pool and a Friday-night party with a “very pretty” ponytailed Latina, guests say.
Rodriguez has been linked in the past with Vin Diesel and Olivier Martinez, and two years ago, “Terminator 3″ star Kristanna Loken hinted in the Advocate that she and the tempestuous temptress had become lovers while shooting “BloodRayne” together in Romania. Last April, Rodriguez told Latina mag, “If I wanna f—- a girl, a boy, a dog, that’s my business.”

Raised a Jehovah’s Witness along with 10 siblings, Rodriguez plays angry well, in such films as “Girlfight” and “Battle in Seattle.” But when her temper erupts in her personal life, the 30-year-old gets in trouble with the law.

She was arrested in 2002 after allegedly assaulting her roommate, who later changed her mind about pressing charges. In 2004, Rodriguez pled guilty to hit-and-run and a driving-under-the-influence charge.

While still on probation in 2005, the actress was again busted for DUI while filming “Lost” in Oahu. She spent five days in a Hawaiian jail on the DUI, and infamously, one day in L.A. on the probation violation - let out because of overcrowding.

Last year, Rodriguez was sentenced to 180 days in the L.A. slammer after admitting she hadn’t done her community service and alcohol education program. It must be really crowded in those L.A. jails, because she was again let out, after just eight days.

DROPOUT Christian Slater decided as an adult that finishing high school was a priority. Slater tells Parade magazine in The Post this Sunday, his main goal after getting sober was to graduate. “High school was not something that I remotely took seriously,” he admits. “And now I’ve got these kids, so it’s like . . . what am I going to do?” Slater, the arm candy to Jimmy Choo empress Tamara Mellon, recalls, “I had to go to a high school classroom with a bunch of kids getting their GED [General Education Development diploma] . . . it ended up that I squeaked by.”

Three months after their bitter divorce was settled, Christie Brinkley’s ex-husband Peter Cook says he was wrongly portrayed in court.

“I’m not the … pervert that I’ve been painted to be,” Cook tells Barbara Walters in an interview that will air Friday on ABC’s 20/20.

Asked why he was speaking out now, Cook, 49, who admitted to having an affair with an 18-year-old assistant and an online pornography habit, tells Walters, “The misinformation that came out during the trial is the elephant in the room. It’s the elephant in the room for my kids.”

During the marriage, he says, “I wanted a little acknowledgement, a little attention, a little thank you every now and then for my efforts, for the amount of time I took to care for her and my family, for the wealth I was building. Just the tremendous amount of work I was putting into my family. … My world became her world. It had to be that way.”

The 54-year-old supermodel’s lawyer, Robert Stephan Cohen, released a statement Tuesday saying that Cook may face additional legal action for speaking out about the case.

“It is shocking that Mr. Cook, after having his day in court, would continue this firestorm created by his bizarre behavior by violating an agreement and court order that prohibits either party from discussing their marriage or divorce in any public way,” Cohen says. ” Ms. Brinkley plans to pursue her legal options arising from his gross disregard of the children and the court order.

Former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, who always has been afraid of flying, says he’s glad to be alive after suffering severe burns in a fiery plane crash last month.

“I hate planes,” Barker said in an interview with Us Weekly magazine. “My biggest fear ever is to be involved in a plane crash, so when that happened … well, I’m just thankful to be alive! I’m just grateful to be here at all.”

The 32-year-old musician and celebrity disc jockey DJ AM were the only survivors of the crash just before midnight Sept. 19 at the main airport in Columbia, S.C. Two pilots and two other passengers were killed, including Barker’s assistant Chris Baker.

Barker was released from a Georgia hospital last week and is now being treated at a burn center in Los Angeles. He said he was too afraid to fly cross-country, so he arranged to travel by bus with his father and ex-wife Shanna Moakler to keep him company.

“I am doing the best I can possibly be,” he said in the magazine’s latest issue. “I’m so anxious to get out of here. … I’ve just been in surgery after surgery. I have third-degree burns basically from my feet up to my waist and both hands. One of my hands has second-degree burns and one has third-degree burns.”

“I’m trying to have a quick recovery and play the drums again and be able to hold my kids again,” said Barker, who has two children, Landon, 5, and Alabama, 2, with Moakler.

If all goes well, Barker expects to leave the hospital within two weeks.

DJ AM (real name: Adam Goldstein) was recently released from the hospital, too. Doctors have said they expect both men to fully recover.

Officials with the National Transportation Safety Board have said a cockpit voice recorder revealed that crew members thought a tire blew out and tried to abort the takeoff.
