How to Give Your Brushes A Thorough Cleaning

When it comes to your face, cleanliness is key! Imagine smearing dirt and dust all over your face and not even knowing it? Gross, we know. But that is precisely what happens when you fail to clean your makeup brushes on a weekly basis. Be sure to take every step possible to make them spic and span, thus steering clear from irritated skin and bacteria. Shana King, professional makeup artist and the guru behind
adesign brushes, shares four simple tips to keeping the pinnacle of your get-pretty kit nice and clean.

Storage: Keep your brushes safe by storing them in their own custom pouches, allowing the bristles room to not be crushed or ruined.

Cleaning: This is an easy one. Simply rinse the brush with shampoo or mild soap and water. Putting the shampoo or soap in the palm of your hand, gently work the bristles through, circling them around and rinsing with water. Do this until the water is clear. And how often does this need to be done? Just once a month, cant get any easier than that!
3. Drying: Hang the brush up, allowing the bristles, (while facing the floor) to remove all moisture.
4. Quick Cleanings: As needed, use an alcohol-free swab to remove excess makeup in between big washes.
