E.l.f Cosmetics' New Show Your(s)e.l.f. Campaign Shows Beauty Is For Everyone
There are countless reasons to love e.l.f. Cosmetics. Founded in 2004, the makeup brand is one of the most budget-friendly options without skimping on quality, and on top of that, its products are vegan and cruelty-free. E.l.f. Cosmetics is loved not only by beauty aficionados and TikTok content creators but also by many celebs. For instance, Alicia Keys announced a partnership with the makeup label in 2020. "For me, beauty is about the soul and the heart and the spirit and what comes through you, comes out of you," the singer said at the time (via People). "And so it's more than just the surface. It's a deep conversation about who we are and who we want to be and where we're going." Following this, e.l.f. shared its mission to make the company have an "inclusive point of view," per CNN, and its latest partnership proves that it's doing just that.
E.l.f. Cosmetics has teamed up with Paralympian swimmer Anastaisa Pagonis to prove that beauty and confidence are for everyone, according a press release published by Business Wire. If you haven't heard of her, prepare to be thoroughly impressed. By 14 years old, she lost most of her eyesight, causing her to become legally blind. Following advice from her doctor, she gave up soccer and began swimming instead. Then, at just 17 years old, Pagonis won her first U.S. gold medal at the Tokyo Paralympics. Now, e.l.f. Cosmetics describes her as a "bold disruptor with a kind heart," and she's about to become an even bigger inspiration to beauty lovers worldwide.
Paralympic swimmer Anastasia Pagonis is helping e.l.f. Donate $75,000 to charity
E.l.f. Cosmetics clearly sees how influential Anastasia Pagonis is and has partnered with the makeup lover and three-time world champion for the first round of its latest campaign, Show Your(s)e.l.f. As the campaign progresses, e.l.f. will be uplifting "inspirational stories from incredible role models overcoming adversity" in hopes of bringing more light and positivity than ever to the beauty sphere. In addition, the makeup company will donate $75,000 to "The Hidden Opponent," an organization near and dear to Pagonis' heart. The non-profit raises awareness about mental health for student-athletes. "Together with Anastasia, e.l.f. is exploring ways to deepen their partnership in service to the broader community," the cosmetic company's press release states.
In the campaign video, Pagonis shares how being blind doesn't prevent her from doing her own makeup. "It's a form of therapy for me. I definitely know what I look like," she reveals. "I feel like I try and enhance my natural features. I know that I have more almond-shaped eyes and very long eyelashes so I like to enhance that. And I like my lips so I like to enhance those features and do kind of what makes me feel beautiful." Pagonis added that she started posting on social media to help herself but realized she was able to help others as well. With over 2 million followers on TikTok, she's definitely inspiring many to be their true, authentic selves, and e.l.f. Cosmetics is helping her reach even more people (and making even more folks feel beautiful in their skin). More inspiring stories are slated to come from this campaign.
